Mrs. Rivenbark Died Yesterday
Funeral To-morrow
Mrs. Catherine Rivenbark, died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. J. Foil, 408 East Fifth street, after an acute illness of a few days. For 18 months Mrs. Rivenbark had been in poor health, suffering with a malady; not malignant but troublesome. Several days ago it became acute, and she failed rapidly.
Mrs. Rivenbark was a native of Eastern North Carolina. Before her marriage she was Miss Katherine Croom, a member of a well known family in the eastern part of the state.
She was twice married, her first husband husband being Mr. William Moore, of the East, and her second husband, the late C. W. Rivenbark, of this city.
By her first marriage she had four children, three daughters and one son, the latter being the late J. W. Moore. The daughters are Mrs. Foil of this city, Mrs. G. W. Newton, of Shelby, Ohio, Mrs. G. W. Barnes, of Waycross, Ga.
Beside these, there are surviving a number of grand children and several great grand children of the latter, Miss Kate Fesperman, who is at Brenau College, Gainesville, Ga. There were no children by the second marriage.
Mrs. Rivenbark was a woman of kindly nature amiable, unselfish gentle and sweet spirited. Her life was one of tranquility and usefulness. She was a devoted wife and mother, and her children, grand children and great grand children "today call her blessed."
Deceased was 76 years of age. She was a member of the First Baptist Baptist church. The funeral services will be held at the church tomorrow afternoon at 3:30.
Mrs. Newton of Ohio, and Mrs. Barnes, of Waycross, Ga., will arrive in the city tonight to attend the funeral.
