Alfred Pharoah, principal of the Canmore public school, expired suddenly Monday afternoon. He had been teaching as usual and appeared to be in his usual health. Upon returning home from the school house he sat down to read the daily paper and, a few minutes later, his wife noticed that his head had fallen to one side. Upon attempting to arouse him, she discovered that he was insensible, and summoned assistance, when the found life was extinct.
Deceased was born in London, England, and had traveled and lectured extensively throughout the British Empire. His only son enlisted from Calgary and fell at Paaschendale in November, 1917.
He leaves a widow and one daughter, at present in England.h
