John and Katherine Dombeck emigrated to the United States from Sorge, Gratz Kreis (county), Posen, Germany in 1873 with their children. Their ship, the Hamburg, departed from Hamburg for Hull, England on June 13, 1873. They would have then taken a train to Liverpool, where they would have boarded another ship for the final voyage to New York. After living in Milwaukee for over 10 years, they eventually settled in the Town of Pike Lake/Bevent, Marathon County.
