Mrs. Angeline Anderson, Almost Ninety Years Old, Passes Away At Home
Lifelong County Resident
Mrs. Angeline Anderson, who would have reached the age of ninety years on Thursday of next week, died at about seven o'clock this morning in her home at Gwynneville. All of her life had been spent in Shelby County.
Four generations surviving her include three children, fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. The three children she leaves are Mrs. Della Anderson of Indianapolis, Ada Anderson, of Gwynneville, and Will Anderson of Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Christian church at Gwynneville.
The funeral service will be held in this church at two o'clock Friday afternoon, with the Reverend Mr. Hufford, former pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in the Hanover cemetery in charge of L. V. Hauk of Morristown.
Elizabeth Angeline McConnell was the daughter of John McConnell and Cynthia Ann Crossley. Her parents migrated from Brown County, Ohio in 1832 and settled in Morristown, Indiana. Her father John McConnell was a farmer his death occurred at the age of 58. Her mother, Cynthia, died at the age of 72 both are buried in Hanover Cemetery. William McConnell the patriarch of this family was born in 1694 in Ireland. He immigrated to America prior to the Revolutionary War and settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth's maternal heritage was Crossley. Her mother Cynthia Ann Crossley was the daughter of William Crossley and Sarah Dungan. He was a private in the Maryland volunteers during the Revolutionary War and was awarded a land grant for his service. He migrated to Union Township, Redoak, Brown County, Ohio with Sarah and raised their family. They are buried in Old Redoak Cemetery in that place.
