Mindwell was the daughter of Ebenezer Woodward and Mindwell Stone of Newton, Mass. Her recorded birth date in the Newton vital records is 26 Feb 1716/7. She was married first in Newton on 30 November 1736 to Nathaniel Shepard, who became the pastor of the church at Attleboro, Mass. They had ten children together, but he died in 1752 before the last child was born.

Following Nathaniel's death, Mindwell married second (intention recorded in Attleboro 25 April 1754) Jeremiah Everett, the son of Richard Everett and Mary Fuller. She had four more children with Jeremiah. They eventually moved from Attleboro to New London, New Hampshire, and several of her children from both husbands came as well.

The children of Mindwell with her first husband, Nathaniel Shepard, are given in his memorial. Her children with Jeremiah Everett were:

* Samuel Everett (twin), b. Attleboro 16 Nov 1756, d. Attleboro 1816, m. Attleboro 13 July 1780 Susanna WALLCOTT, b. c.1760 in Attleboro, the daughter of Moses Walcott and Mary Blackinton. Samuel was a private in Capt Caleb Richardson's company, Col Timothy Walker's regiment, from 24 April to August 1775. He appears on the 1790 census for Attleboro. He and Susanna had ten children.

* Hannah Everett (twin), b. Attleboro 16 Nov 1756, d. 12 Aug 1832, m. Attleboro 3 Feb 1777 William FREEMAN, b. 1756, d. 30 Mary 1825. Hannah and William are buried in the Elder Ballou Meeting House Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. A William, son of Daniel Freeman and Johannah ( ) Read, was b. in Attleboro 16 March 1759, but this would make William aged 17 at marriage, which is unlikely.

* Penuel Everett, b. Attleboro 3 Sep 1758, d. New London, NH 5 Feb 1813, m. Attleboro 16 Jan 1783 Hannah SLACK. An online account says a Hannah Slack, daughter of John, was b. Attleboro 10 Jan 1762, but this is not in the published Attleboro vital record. However, Hannah did have a brother, John, and two sisters, Mindwell and Molle, who all went north with her. Penuel was a private in Capt Caleb Richardson's company, Col. Timothy Walker's regiment, 24 April to August 1775, and later marched to Rhode Island on 21 April 1777. He and his brother Levi moved to New London, NH about 1783, but by about 1790 he was living in Lunenburg, VT. By 1796 he was in Haverhill, Mass., but the next year he was back in New London.

* Levi Everett, b. Attleboro 23 Sep 1760, d. New London, NH 5 Mar 1844, and m. c. 1785 Lucy TITUS, d. New London, NH 25 Oct 1832. It is highly likely that Lucy was the "Luce Titus" born in Rehoboth, Mass. on 7 Oct 1762, the daughter of Jonathan Titus and Dorothy Kent. Jonathan Titus came to Attleboro, and is buried in the Newell Cemetery there. Levi was in Capt Caleb Richardson's company that marched to RI 21 April 1777. Levi and Lucy had seven known children; they are buried in the Old Main Street Cemetery in New London.
