Levi was the youngest of eleven children born to his father, Jeremiah Everett, and the youngest of fourteen children born to his mother, Mindwell Woodward. He was married about 1783 to Lucy Titus, and with her had seven children born from 1786 to 1803. Levi was in Capt Caleb Richardson's company that marched to RI 21 April 1777 during the Revolutionary War. The oldest child of the couple was Olive, born 9 April 1786.
