Minnie Elliott Rochell Soapes Sept. 17, 1918 — March 19, 2010 Minnie Elliott Rochell Soapes, 91 of Duncan, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010, at Country Club Nursing Home.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Sanderfer officiating. Interment will be at the Duncan cemetery under direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight.Daniel and Yoma "Witt" Elliott; Minnie married Robert "R.D." Rochell March 18, 1935, in Waurika, he preceded her in death Dec. 5, 1966, she later married William "Bill" Soapes in 1966 he preceded her in death. Minnie had been a resident of Stephens County since 1944, she was a homemaker and attended First Freewill Baptist Church.Minnie is survived by two sons; Robert Rochell and his wife, Wilma of Duncan, Raymond Rochell and his wife Ann of Waurika; a daughter; Doris "Dee" Clayton and her husband, Jimmy of Chickasha a sister Florene Riggs of Ardmore; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Jimmy Soapes and his wife, Martha of Chino, Cali., Tommy Soapes of Rush Springs, Kay Wilson and her husband, Larry of Marlow and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Arlton "Jim" Rochell and David Wayne Rochell and a brother; James Elliott and two sisters, Dosha Clampitt and Dessie Satterwhite and one grandson.Pallbearers will be grandson's and sons-in-law.
