Emily McPherson, age 93, of Austin, passed away Monday, November 29, 2004. She married her beloved husband, Wiley in 1954. She was a longtime member of St. Mary s Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the American Lebanese Association. Emily played life to the fullest. Her biggest enjoyments were bowling and playing bridge. She gave back to life by doing volunteer work for St. David s Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Salem and Elizabeth Abraham; her husband, Wylie McPherson; brother, Abe Abraham and sister, Mary Vaeth. She is survived by her sisters, Rose Terbay of Georgetown, Martha Barklow of Concord, Ca, and Anna Valcourt of Austin; brother, David Abraham of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2004, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2004, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 12041 Bittern Hollow with Father Bill Brooks, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Family members will be honoring Mrs. McPherson by serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Terbay. The family would like to thank the staff of Park Bend Health Center for their tender loving care, Hospice for their loving care during her last days and Parmer Woods for their wonderful care during her four-year stay at their assisted living facility.
