Emmett Allen Summers, 82, died Friday at Medicalodge, following an illness of three years.
Born Sept. 14, 1896, in Vernon County, he was the son of William A. and Alice Boling Summers. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Metz Christian Church. He served in the Army during World War I.
Survivors include a son, Harold G. Summers, Paola, Kan.; a daughter, Mildren L. Hamblin, Nevada; a sister, Edna Steele, Butler, three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held today at Ferry Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Rhodes officiating.
Mrs. Chester Whitehead played the organ selections "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Down the Valley."
Pallbearers were Larry Hamblin, Jerry Hamblin, Howard Lyons, Homer Lyons, Lloyd Spillman and John Stephens.
Interment was in Rinehart Cemetery.
