WATERBURY — Mrs. Angela Versace, 91, a resident of Abbott Terrace Health Care Center, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 17, 2010, with her family at her side. She was the widow of Dante Versace and Joseph Dragotta.

Mrs. Versace was born in Hamden on Jan. 1, 1919, daughter of the late Anthony and Pasqualena Ninivaggi. Later she and her family relocated to New York.

She worked in the sewing industry for many years, later changing careers to become a postal employee in the state of New York. After her retirement, she and her husband did some traveling, which she enjoyed as well as sewing.

Mrs. Versace is survived by three sisters, Rebecca Amendola and Mary DeVito, both of Florida, and Anna Alverez of Connecticut. Angela also leaves her three daughters, Josephine Dragotta of Haverstraw, N.Y., Danette Dunn and her son, Dante, of Waterbury, and Carol Angelicola (Dragotta), her husband, Nick, and son, Nicholas, of Waterbury; daughter-in-law, Joyce Dragotta and her son, Joseph, his wife and daughter; and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She was predeceased by her son, John Dragotta.

She took great pride and joy in her family.

Arrangements: Funeral service 11:15 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, N.Y. Calling hours are Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home, 73 North Liberty Drive, Stony Point, N.Y., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Final resting place: St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw, N.Y.
