The second daughter and, we believe the second child of Roxana (Worner) Hill and Jonathan Hill. She was probably born in Rhode Island in 1804 or 1805. She moved with her parents to what is now West Virginia and settled with them on eighteen mile creek in Putnam County. She grew to womanhood and married John Jividen. They had seven children:
Elsie's name was sometimes spelled Alcy. She could have been known as Alice as well since her name is listed as Alice on her son, Anthony Jividen's marriage information in the book Jackson County, West Virginia Marriages 1831-1879.
In the 1880 Putnam County, West Virginia census on page 117a, Elsie is listed as Eltha age 76 and born in New York. It is interesting that she also had a granddaughter with the same spelling.
