HOLLIS — Maggie Jewel Mayhugh, 83, died Monday at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Services win be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Hollis, with Rev. James Densman officiating. Burial will be at the Fairmount Cemetery, Hollis, under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home, Hollis. Mayhugh was born March 16, 1908 in Wise County, Texas, to Morgan and Mary Crook Magness. She married Andy Mayhugh Jan. 28, 1925 in Decatur, Texas. She attended school in Alvord, Texas. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church outside of Hollis. Survivors include five daughters Lorene Bartlett, Melba Crawford and Irvine Castleman, all of Hollis; Lavonne Clinton, Dallas, Texas; Wilda Coomes, Plainfield, Ind.; one sister, Verona Mullins, Wichita. Falls, Texas; 14 grandchildren, two step grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband April 7, 1984; three brothers and two sisters.
