Lewis W. Zaversnik, 84, of Rock Springs died Saturday at the Sage View Care Center.
He was born June 9, 1916 in Green River, the son of the late Anton and May Potochnik Zaversnik.
He attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1934. He married the former Amelia "Molly" Luzan in 1941. She preceded him in death in 1983. He married the former Marjorie Guy in 1985 in Helper, Utah.
He worked as a printer for the Rocket Miner for 44 years until his retirement in 1979.
He was a member of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Lodge 2441, AFU Lodge and International Typographical Union.
Survivors include his wife of Rock Springs; one daughter, Judy Ellis of Dayton, Ohio; two step sons, Danny Guy of Helper, Utah, and Don Guy of Ellensburg, Wash.; one sister Elsie Menapace of Rock Springs and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, first wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers, John, William, Robert, Anton, Phillip and Frank, and one sister, Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated this morning at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Rock Springs. Father John Savio officiated.
Interment took place at the St. Joseph's Section of the Rock Springs municipal Cemetery.
His family requests that memorials be made to St. Joseph's Children Home P.O. Box 1117, Torrington, 82240-1117 or the Holy Spirit Catholic Community P.O. Box 6038 Rock Springs, 82902.
