Arlo Brister Reid Miller, 85, of Loveland, CO, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Good Samaritan Health Care Village in Loveland.
Visitation is 5-8 pm today and Friday, March 19, 2010, after 1:00 at Lakewood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Arlo was born on November 27, 1924 on the family farm in Brookhaven, MS. She was the 10th of 11 children born to George "Buddy" Tillman and Fannie (Bullock) Brister. Arlo lived in the Jackson and Ridgeland, MS areas for most of her life, before moving to Colorado in 2002 to be closer to her daughter.
Arlo worked as a cafeteria manager and also worked as a care provider up until her retirement in 1988.
She is survived by her son, George Reid and wife, Gail of Raymond, MS; daughter, Dianne Whiteside and husband, Mike of Loveland, CO; four grandchildren, Kent Reid of Starkville, MS, Sara Alford of Raymond, MS and Leigh Anne and Kellye Whiteside of Loveland, CO. Arlo is also survived by two great-grandsons, Colby and Jacob Alford of Raymond, MS.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Q, Reid in 1970 and Joseph W. Miller in 2002; her four brothers and six sisters; her infant son, Charles Edward; and infant grandsons, Lytle and Charlie Whiteside.
