John (Jack) Alderton, a lifelong resident was born in Colorado Springs on December 18, 1921.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1941-1945. Known for his dedicated work ethic, John was a member of the Local 58 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for over 60 years.

He married Jackie Watters Alderton in July of 1943 and they were happily married for 66 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; daughter, LaJuan Alderton Harrison; son-in-law, Dale R. Harrison; daughter-in-law, Janet Alderton; nephew, John Alderton (Wanda); niece, Patty Cordova; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jim and by brothers Harry and Chet and sister, Mattee Blasingame.

He had a great love of gardening and with his wife, raised prize winning dahlias. He enjoyed life and will be remembered as a truly loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who know him.

A Memorial Service will be held for Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Spring, CO.
