Retired grocery operator Otto A. Endris, 69, 1820 G Street, passed away at 8:00pm Friday at Dunn Memorial Hospital. He had been ill the past year.
Otto and August Endris were partners in the Endris Grocery Store started by their father, Louis, in 1909 and closed in 1970.
He was born in Bedford Sept. 4, 1904, to Louis and Catherine Trumper Endris. He married Marie W. Gates in May of 1926 in Bedford, and she preceded him in death May 28, 1963. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Wilbur and Arthur.

Survivors include five sons, John, Donald, Joseph and James, all of Bedford, and Daniel of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Teresa) Johnson and Mary Jean Endris, both of Bedford; 17 grandchildren, four brothers, Louis, Leonard and Leo Endris, all of Biloxi, Miss., and August of Bedford; one sister, Mrs. Bruno (Gertrude) Beretta, Bedford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus No. 1166; and a life time member of Eagles Lodge No. 654.
Services will be 9:00am Monday at St. Vincent dePaul Church, Rev. Bernard Koopman officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 am Sunday at Ferguson-lee Funeral Home.
The rosary will be said at 3:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
