Mrs. Tomasita Garcia, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, born on March 29, 1916 in Lemitar, New Mexico passed away on December 16, 2002. Mrs. Garcia was born to Hilario Gonzales and Presilla Benavidez Gonzales. Mrs. Garcia is preceded in death by her husband Atanacio Garcia. She was one of four children, preceded in death by a sister Adelina Castillo and survived by her brother Jose Leon Gonzales and a sister Julia Baca; She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great-great-nephew. Survivors include her children, Larry Garcia, Emy Lewis and Lorenzo, Ray (Junior) Garcia and wife Prescilla, Tomas (Sonny) Garcia and wife Gloria; Mary Ellen (Nella) and husband Ernie, Priscilla Knotts, Mary Elza (Hita) and husband Don; 32 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church and she lived most of her adult life in the North Valley with her three sons and four daughters. A visitation for Mrs. Garcia will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by her son, Tomas (Sonny). A final visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Ramon Aragon. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gerald, James, Andrew, Danny, Steve, Chris, Randy, David, Tommy Dean, Randy, Wayne, Dwayne, Celestino (Tino) and Erik. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grand daughters, Deborah, Darlene, Loretta, Yvone, Julie, Yvette, Trisha, Marla, Gerri Ann, Gabriella, Marty, Tammy, Corinne and Mari."Mom, you touched the hearts and lives of so many people and you will be missed very much by all those who loved you."
