UMBENHOWER

Etha L. (Edwards) Umbenhower was born in Lucas County, Iowa, on June 19, 1913. She passed away Oct. 26, 2000, at the Pleasantville Care Center from complications of a broken hip at the age of 87.

Etha was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Chariton.

She was married to Jess Umbemhower in 1952. He preceded her in death, along with her parents, Ora and Edith (Stotts) Edwards, and three brothers, Floyd, Glenn and Arlyn.

Etha is survived by one brother, Arthur and his wife, Eva of Altoona, and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Edwards of West Des Moines, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Neville Clayton officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.

Serving as bearers were John Prunty, Dick Stone, Jeff Edwards, Larry Edwards, Gary Edwards and Lloyd Pierschbacher.
