I moved his memorial to the Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Patmos, Arkansas where I placed a marker for Samuel in the Cox family plot.

Samuel F. Cox was born about 1841 in Limestone Co. Ar. and died Jan 2, 1863 in Little Rock, Ar.. Samuel is buried in a military cemetery in Camden, Ouachita Co. Ar. He married Mary Ann "Polly" Jackson, daughter of William Jackson and Minerva Shores, around 1858 in Limestone Co, Al.. Shortly after their marriage they moved to the Spring Hill Township of Hempstead Co. Ar.. Samuel Cox and his brother, Fulker Cox, enlisted in the Confederate Army Jun 19, 1862 in Columbia Co. Ar.. They were in Company G, 33rd Arkansas Infantry Regiment, CSA. Family members have stated that Samuel died from frost bite during a very cold winter. After Samuel died, his widow and three children moved back to Alabama. Later, his brother, Thomas E. Cox went back to Alabama, married Mary Ann "Polly" Cox and moved her and the children to Lafayette Co. Ar..

Samuel Cox died Jan. 2, 1863 during the Civil War, per Jack Hollis' research, 03-05-03. Samuel F. Cox, enlisted June 19, 1862 in Co. G, 33rd Ark. Infantry in Magnolia, Ark.
