Mrs. Artie Mae Spradling, 95, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died March 29, 1999 at Meadowview Lodge Nursing Home in Huntsville. She was born July 27, 1903 at Purdy, Arkansas, the daughter of Frank and Amanda Fowler Smith. She was a retired retail clerk and a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Spurgeon S. Reynolds on July 13, 1958. She was also preceded in death by one son, Alvie Mack Reynolds and one grandson, Dale Leatherbury.
Survivors include: her husband, William Euen Spradling of the home; one son, Jack Reynolds of Huntsville; one daughter, Mrs. Faye Leatherbury of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Wanda Yates of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. Edith Easterling of Hindsville; two half-brothers, Dr. Austin C. Smith of Huntsville and Paul Smith of Primeville, Oregon; two half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Bean of Pine Bluff and Mrs. Ruby Wilds of Sutherland, Oregon; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Larry Combs, Minister, officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ernest Spurlock, Leland Lewis, Presley Thomas, Bill Madison, Marion "Doc" Hudgins and Nathan Gaskill.
