Tom Jerome, 80, 1501 Ninth street,died at 6:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 1994 at Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Okla.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 1994, at the First Presbyterian Church, Perry, Okla. Rev. Sam Jerome & Rev. Ken Waddell officiated. Burial was at Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral home of Perry.
Tom , was the son of Samuel R. and Mamie M. (Rutherford) Jerome and was born Dec. 27, 1913 at Orlando, Okla. He attended Orlando Schools. Tom and Katherine Moelling were married at Enid, Okla., Sept. 15, 1937. The Jerome's lived in Shawnee, then in Texas, Louisana and Illinois before returning to Oklahoma in 1952.
Tom had worked in the oilfields, raised racing greyhounds, farmed, raised cattle and had been an employee of Elwell Auto Supply in Perry. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, the Perry Elks lodge and the National Greyhound association.
In addition to his wife, of the home, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law , Evertt and Sharon Mertz, Fremont, Calif; a son and daughter- in- law, Ted and Marilyn (Elwell) Jerome, Perry; Todd Jerome, Perry, Shelby Mertz, Calif; and Kevin and Debbie Mertz, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Patty and Courtney Mertz; and one brother, Glen Jerome, Perry.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
