05/15/1941 - MRS. NANCY PLETCHER DIES AT THE HOME OF A SON LAST TUESDAY - Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Pletcher, 83 of Jefferson township, Kosciusko county, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Nappanee Church of God. Rev. L. E. Foudy officiating and burial will be in the Yellow Creek cemetery under the direction of Wright & Son. She died Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock. Mrs. Pletcher was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brenneman and was born on a farm west of Wakarusa May 23, 1857. She was united in marriage to David Pletcher Feb 13, 1881, near Wakarusa and she and her husband moved to a farm southeast of Nappanee 52 years ago. Mr. Pletcher passed away July 20, 1930 and Mrs. Pletcher has since lived with her son, John, on the farm. She is survived by six children, Nathan. John, Fred, Henry L., and Walter J. Pletcher and Mrs. Jacob Mitschelen of Bremen; one half-brother, Peter Brenneman, both of Brutus, Mich; one sister, Mrs. Levi Mitschelen of Nappanee and one half-sister, Mrs. Abe Myers of Elkhart; 26 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The body will lay in state at the John Pletcher home until the hour of the service Friday afternoon, when it will be taken to the Church of God, of which she was a member, for the last rites.
