Obit: Vester Rogers, a longtime resident of San Juan Bautista, died Monday at Hollister Convalescent Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Rogers was 82. He was born in Lebanon, Missouri, and moved from Missouri to San Juan Bautista forty-five years ago. He had worked for many San Juan farmers over the years. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Reva Rogers, whom he married in 1921 in Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Philo Rogers of Hollister; three daughters, Audrey Willie of Stockton, Iona Flink of Santa Ana and Rae Ann Rudd of Manteca; two brothers, Virgil Rogers of Texas and Vernon Rogers of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A private family service will be conducted at Black-Cooper-Sander Funeral Home and with burial to follow at San Juan Cemetery.
