Martha J. Beery, 97, of Rittman died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Apostolic Christian Home where she resided in recent years.
She was born November 5, 1911 in Monroe County to Jacob and Erma (Ingold) Imhoff moving to Wayne County in 1928. She lived most of her life in the Sterling/Rittman area.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Rittman Apostolic Christian Church for 70 years.
She married, Robert I. Beery on January 16, 1937 and he died on August 17, 1979. Surviving are her children, Gaylord (Cheryl) Beery of Sterling, Elverna Zollinger of Rittman, Carole Steiner of Seville, Norene (Michael) Miller of Rittman, and Roberta (Andrew) Stoller of Orrville ; 23 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A son, Wayne Beery; an infant daughter, Diane Beery; a brother, Clarence Imhoff; sisters, Irma Klotzle Hilty and Elda Indermuhle; and sons-in-law, Alvin Zollinger and David Steiner all died previously.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Rittman Apostolic Christian Church, 10699 Steiner Rd. with Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Cemetery in Rittman. Friends may call from 2-4, 6-9 p.m. on Friday at Gillman Funeral Home
