Cora Rebecca Enfield was born in Henderson County, Illinois on Jan 18, 1864, the daughter of Richard T. and Eliza Ann Delaney Enfield and passed away Nov. 12, 1957 at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 24 days at the Collins Memorial Hospital Knoxville, Iowa. She was the last of a family of eight children.
She was united in marriage to Joseph L. Deucore, October 11, 1881, to which union were born seven children, one passing away in infancy. Six survive her: Mrs Grace Sherlock, Marshalltown; Mrs Golda Smith of Long Beach, Calif; Mrs. Myrtle Haines, Newton; Mrs Pearl Shaffer, Lynnville; Mrs J.A. Dennis, Knoxville, and Emery L. Deucore, Cedar, Ia.
The family moved to Iowa from Illinois in 1893. The father Joseph L. Deucore, died Oct. 4, 1894.
On February 11, 1896, she was united in marriage to Henry C. Meredith to which union were born four children, two of whom died in infancy. She is survived by Harry C. Meredith, Lynnville; Mrs Elmer Dunbar, Paso Robles, Calif; two stepchildren; W.H. Meredith, Midway City, Calif., and Mrs Ethel Enfield, Nora Springs, Ia.
She was a member of the Methodist church and firm believer in the Christian way of life, a most devoted and loving mother. Her faith in God was her source of strength and confidence that His grace was sufficient for her to meet the problems of life and its responsibilities. Her kind solicitude will be missed by each of those surviving. She was granted a long life and now rests with her Saviour
She is survived by 21 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
