Elizabeth Parrish Behrens passed away, Saturday, December 1, 1990 in Bountiful after a lingering illness. She was 77 years old.
Born to Joseph Alonzo and Ida Elizabeth Cook Parrish, December 20, 1912 in Mountain Green, Utah. Married John H. Behrens, November 27, 1946 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York. They were sealed in the Logan L.D.S. Temple, June 9, 1950. Beth was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Eastern Canada. She served as a teacher, Relief Society President, and genealogist. At the time of her passing, she was involved in the extraction program. She received her education at Utah State and Brigham Young Universities. She taught elementary school in LaSal and Kenilworth, Utah. She was also a trained beautician. Her greatest joy was in being a homemaker. She will be remembered by many for her beautiful quilts. Beth served her country in the U.S. Army during World War II where she met her husband. They were members of the same Signal Service Battalion. They dated in Germany, John with a rifle on his shoulder.
Survived by her husband, Bountiful; five sisters and one brother, Ruth P. Tippetts; Mary P. Pourtales, Woods Cross; Josephine P. Spring, Bountiful; Naomi P. Wallace, Ithaca, New York; Jeanette P. Bunn, Logan; Wallace A. Parrish, Logan. One brother, Gordon, of Ogden preceded her in death. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, December 5, 2:30 P.M., Bountiful 44th L.D.S. Chapel, 1190 East Bountiful Hills Drive. Friends may call Tuesday evening at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, from 6-8 P.M. and Wednesday 1:00-2:15 at the church. Interment in the Centerville City Cemetery.
