Franklin Delano Hylton

Franklin Delano Hylton, age 63, of Coal City, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at his home following a battle with cancer.

Born on March 24, 1946, at Fireco, he was the son of the late James Albert Hylton and Lennie Mae Bolen Hylton.

Mr. Hylton was a disabled coal miner, a member of the UMWA Local No. 7086.

He faithfully attended the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church at MacArthur.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Denny and Edna E. Hodges.

During the battle he bravely fought against Cancer, Frank recognized others battling this disease. He lovingly and patiently made calls to someone who was going through the same battles he had experienced.

This is only one of many Christ-like attributes this gentle man shared. These actions will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Sharron Bell Hylton; a daughter, Victoria Elaine Akers and husband, Kristopher Michael Akers of Sumter, S.C.; two grandchildren, Ashley Nikole Hylton and Damien Michael Akers; two brothers, James Hylton of Lorain, Ohio, and the Rev. Harold Hylton of Lorain, Ohio; four sisters, Stacey Shuck of Rittman, Ohio, Geneva Dolinger of Lorain, Ohio, Juanita McAlpine of Princewick, W.Va., and Betty Perdue of Avon, Ohio.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church at MacArthur, with the Rev. Harold Hylton and the Rev. Terry Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church, and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church.
