Harold F Visser passed away peacefully at home, having lived a full, long life in Whatcom county. He was born on the Visser family farm in Lynden, the twelfth child to Dutch immigrants William and Hattie Visser.

Harold worked as a laborer for Local #276 having served several years as president. He often reminisced of the years building the Baker and Ross dams and working at local refineries and worked a couple winters in Alaska.

He also worked seven years at the old Rainbow Inn Tavern, making many more friends and acquaintances. He was a volunteer with the South Lake Whatcom Fire Department #18 and served as fire chief during his tenure.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Hans, Ed, Dick, Pete, Jim, Bert; sisters, Bessie, Flossie, Ida and Anna, sister-in-law Marion, nephew, Dan Visser and grandson, Robert Scott Visser.

Graveside services will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park on Northwest Road 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, with Pastor Cal Hanson officiating. Following services the family invites all to the Visser family farm at 603 Visser Rd in Lynden for refreshments. A memorial will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at Whatcom Meadows dining room in the clubhouse.

Memorials may be made in Harold's memory to Whatcom Hospice.
