Robert J. Wixted, 37, lifelong resident of Mechanicville, died last night in Albany Hospital after a brief illness. He was taken to the hospital Saturday morning by the Ahearn Rescue Squad from his residence, 214 South 2nd Ave, Mechanicville.
Mr. Wixted was the son of Mrs. Helen N. Wixted of Mechanicville and the late Matthew J. Wixted. His mother is a teacher in the Mechanicville school system.
He was a graduate of Mechanicville High School in the class of 1941 and attended Siena College. Mr Wixted was a veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Paul's Church.
Survivors are two children, Michael and Georgia; his mother and a brother, Thomas Wixted of Miami, Fla. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the John P. Noonan Funeral Home, 406 Park Ave., Mechanicville and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Paul's Church. Interment will take place in St Paul's Cemetery.
