Lee Perry was born in Tahlequah, OK, on May 19, 1969 to Jerry Perry and Ruby (Sparks) Perry. He attended Woodall Elementary School until 8th grade, and then went on to Tahlequah Junior High School and Tahlequah Senior High School. After graduating, Lee attended Northeastern State University, where he was a four-year member of the NSU Golf Team while majoring in education. After completing his studies at NSU, he worked at Muskogee Country Club as an Assistant Pro under Dean Ohley. Lee continued his work as a teaching pro over the next several years at Hillcrest Country Club, Forrest Ridge, Meadowbrook Country Club, and Cherry Springs Golf Club. Lee prospered as a teacher of golf and especially enjoyed teaching children the game he loved. He was not only a teacher of the game, but an accomplished player as well. Among his accomplishments was his induction in the NSU Wall of Fame with the members of his golf team. He won several PGA South-Central Section and Eastern Chapter Tournaments and Player of the Year honors during his playing days. Lee Perry passed from this life on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, surrounded by many loving family members and friends. He was 40 years old. Lee is survived by his wife, Tamara Perry, of the home; his treasured daughter, Kylee Lynn Perry; his parents, Ruby and Jerry Perry of Tahlequah; one brother, Brad Perry and wife Tammy, of Tahlequah; five nieces, Savannah Perry, Megan Perry and Asia Perry, all of Tahlequah, and Taylor Brown and Laney Brown, of Colombus Kansas. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and other beloved family members and friends. Funeral services will be will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Gil Hooper presiding. Interment will follow services at Price Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the care of the Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
