Barker, Wrex, 71, retired Marine Corps, died Sunday, March 3, 2002. Visitation 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dunsford Funeral Home; service 1 p.m. Friday, Augusta First Baptist Church; burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr. Barker was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War, serving as a sergeant first class in the Marine Corps.

He was 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed upholstering furniture.

Preceded in death by brothers, Cecil; sister, Elsie Hawkins and parents, Edward and Dora Barker.

Survivors: wife, Pat; son and daughter-in-law, Monty and Joan Barker of Mountain Home, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Lenita and Bob Lohman of Augusta; brothers, Mitt of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Wheeler of Wichita; sisters, Meddie McCafferty of Waldren, Ark., Glea Norris, Bernice Proffitt both of Wichita; grandchildren, Brice Lohman, Brandon Lohman both of Augusta, Ashley Barker, Jordan Barker both of Mountain Home, Ark.; several nephews and nieces. Memorials established with Augusta First Baptist Church and Toys for Tots.
