Samuel Pfeiffer, b. 1769, from Pennsylvania, drew Lot 27, conc 7 in 1810. He had three sons, John, b. 1791, William b. 1795 and Joseph b. 1800, and four daughters. After Samuel's death, his widow, Barbara Labar, b. 1770, and a daughter Catherine, b. 1802, remained on the original homestead. Joseph was on Lot 29, conc 8 (Dickson Hill) (1851) with his sons Samuel, b. 1829, Joseph b. 1834, Abraham b. 1845 and Isaac b. 1847. Here the Piphers built a fine stone house in 1861; it's splendid masonry was the work of a man who learned his trade in Kingston Prison.
