C. F. Bunge, 89 Dies Sunday
Funeral Services Held Wednesday; Burial In Rockville CemeteryChristian F. Bunge aged 89, well-known and highly respected resident of Manitowoc county, passed away at his farm home in the town of Schleswig, three miles east of Kiel at 9:30 o'clock a.m., Sunday, after an illness of two weeks' duration. Mr. Bunge was born in Melzow Province, Brandbenburg, Uckermark, Germany on September 5, 1843. In the year 1868 he migrated to America and located directly in the town of Schleswig. He was married to Mrs. Annie Mueller, also of that township in September 1869 and the couple located on their present homestead where they have resided ever since. His wife passed away February 17, 1918.
Mr. Bunge was a war veteran and served in the third Posisches infantry, Regiment 58, from 1864 to 186? and fought in the war of 1866 against Austria.
He also served as captain of the Kiel German Krieger Verein for many years, but which disbanded two years ago. He was still a member of the German Krieger Bund of Wisconsin up to the time of his death. - 1933
