C.L. DeRoss, 77, of Sharon RD 2, former Mahoningtown resident, died today at 2:15 a.m. after a one-year illness. He had moved a few years ago to Sharon.
A retired engineer from the Pennsylvania Railroad, Mr. DeRoss was born Feb. 1, 1885 in Meadville, son of Leander and Hannah Snyder DeRoss. He retired in 1955 and was a member of the Farrell Methodist Church and the B. of L.E.
He was married May 12, 1926 to the former Eunice Evans who survives him. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gordon A. (Frances May) Daisley, Johnstown; one brother, G.W. DeRoss, Buffalo, N.Y.; one grandchild and several great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Harry C. Tennant Funeral Home, 1243 Roemer Blvd., Farrell Wednesday, 709 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Friday at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow in Valley View Cemetery, New Castle.
