Jean Kohn Brelin died at her home Wednesday
morning.
She was born in Rexburg, Idaho, May 30, 1925, to
J. Eldon and Mary (Lunnell) Cloward, but spent nearly her entire life in Butte. She attended Butte schools and worked at various Butte
businesses including the American News Co., The American Candy Co., and in later years the
P.O. Newstand and the Capri Motel.
In August of 1944 she married James Kohn. They shared 38 years together with their two children before his death in 1982.
In January of 1994, Jean married native Californian Stan Brelin with whom she had been a friend for more than 30 years. They
continued living in Butte.
Jean always enjoyed reading, gambling trips to Las Vegas and traveling in general. She loved life and had a generous spirit.
Jean is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband, Stan Brelin; daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Dan Kenneally; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lil Kohn and their children, Chris Zahn and Ted Zahn; sister, Dixie Mock; brothers-in-law, Bob Kohn and Gene Matelich; Stan's son and daughter-in-law, Stanton and Rebecca Brelin and their family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Kohn, her parents, brothers, Jake and Jack Cloward, sister, Wanda Cady, sisters and brothers-in-law, Leo Mock, Betty Cloward, Frank and Virginia Hayler and Helen Matelich.
It was Jean's wish to be cremated. The family plans private services at a later date.
