Gladys E. Timmerman Dies at age of 88
Gladys E. Timmerman,88, resident of Angel's Inn,died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her daughter,Mrs. Douglas P.(Mary Ellen) Allen,Henderson Harbor.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry E. Cronk,chaplain at Hospice of Jefferson County Inc.,officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Conributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County Inc. 714 Washington St.
Besides her daughter,she is survived by 10 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild,and a brother,Ross A. Brady,LaFargeville.
A twin,sister Mrs.Francis (Grace E.) Hughes,a sister,Mrs. Frank(Lottie M.) Haller,and a brother Bert W. Brady,died previously.
She was born March 14,1904,in LaFargeville,a daughter of Richard and Lucy (Carpenter) Brady. She attened rural schools.
She married J.Kenneth Timmerman Oct.28,1922,at the Methodist parsonage,Evans Mills,with the Rev.William M. McCurdy officiating.
Mr. Timmerman was a delveryman for the former Atlantic Refinery Co. for many years until his retirement. Following his retirement,the couple spent winters in Florida. They moved to Sackets Harbor in 1974 and to Star Lake in 1978.
A native of Perch Lake,Mr.Timmerman died in February 1981,at the age of 81.
