Grace Hughes,84, Clayton Street,LaFargeville,died on March 31 in the Edward John Noble Hospital,Alexandria Bay,where she been a patient since March 20.

The funeral was monday,April 4 in St. John's Catholic church,with Rev. Robert Decker officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery. Arrangements were with Frederick Brothers Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the LaFargeville Ambulance Fund,in care of Michael Wills,LaFargeville.

Surviving are her husband,Francis; a son,Edward,LaFargeville;a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Ann) Recor,Boonville;three grandchildren;four great-grandchildren;a brother,Ross Brady,LaFargeville;a sister Mrs. Kenneth Timmerman,Star Lake,and several nieces and nephews.

Born in the town of Orleans March 14,1904,a daughter of Richard and Lucy Carpenter Brady,she was educated in local schools.

On July 2,1924,she was married to Francis Hughes. Following their marriage,the couple lived in LaFargeville,moving to Clayton St. in 1943. For several years,Mrs. Hughes was in charge of the cafeteria of LaFargeville Central School, retiring in 1969.
