Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Shellhouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Craig, Brandon Reeves, Daryl Welsh, Lee Rhodes, Marion Eubanks and Bobby Tara. Honorary pallbearers will be the Aiken Co. Land Surveyors.
Paul was a lifelong resident of Aiken and was the son of the late Paul McCreary and Pearl Price Hankinson. He was a retired electrical and mechanical engineer who worked for E.I. DuPont, SRP and was a veteran of World War II with the Army Air Corps. He was also the owner and operator of Hankinson Engineering Services and a member of Aiken First Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Jennie, include two stepchildren; a sister, Bessie C. Permenter of Greer; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Aiken Heart Association 1003 Hampton Drive, Aiken, SC 29803.
