Our family has always been told that American Ellis Fortune (my great-great grandmother)was born onboard a ship coming to America. Her father died on the ship before she was born and her mother died during the birth of America. We have been told that she was taken by a family and they raised her. We know nothing about America other than this info. We would love to know who her parents (both adopted and biological) were for our family tree.
