Mrs. Marie Horton Jones, age 80 of Crockett, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2003 in the east TX Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Jones was born October 7, 1922 in Spur and had resided in Crockett since 1988. Mrs. Jones was a retired nurse and a member of the Harvest Church. Mrs. Jones was also the sister of the late Johnny Horton.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Candy and Wayne Selman, of Crockett; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Norma Dell Jones, of Lovelady; grandchildren LaShon Utz, of Crockett, Mark and Laurie Selman, of Hudson, Shelly Selman, of Nashville, Tenn., Melissa and Bobby Frosgren, Tiffany Crocker, Gerald Douglas Jones, all of Jackson, Tenn., Nicole and Craig Lolly, of Richards; great-grandchildren Spencer, Blake, Bryce, Kelsee, Madison, Dawson, Camby, Hunter, Hawkin, Dakota, Joseph, Shania, Joe and Tom; brother and sister-in-law Frank and Lorna Horton, of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Horton Jones were held Monday, August 24, at 10:00 a.m. in the Harvest Church with the Rev. Dennis Ivey, the Rev. Ottis Byers, and the Rev. Scott Matthews and C. L. Taylor officaiting. Interment followed in the Lovelady Evergreen Cemetery.
Speakers were Carolyn Ivey, Millie Clorer, and Carol Patrick.
Special Singers were the Rev. Dennis Ivey, the Rev. Ottis Byers, and her granddaughter LaShon Utz. Pallbearers were Wayne Lacy, Jerry Baker, Bill Gilbert, Charles Echols, Clayton Brazzil, and Daniel James. Callaway-Allee Funeral Home
