One of her great-grandsons wrote the following:
"I believe my great-grandmother, Mary, (who we all called "Ducky") was married to Friend Spruill. Friend & Mary's children were: son John Exa (Hector) Spruill, who died in Ft. Worth; son Rue May (Jack) Spruill who died in what is now the little village of Santa Clara, NM; daughter S.I. Curnins (I think) of Ft. Worth; daughter Mary Sleb of Gardenia, California. They also had 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren (at last count), of which I am one."
