Klye R. Shumway, 80, died Aug. 21, 2004 at his home in Taylor.

He was born Jan. 20, 1924 in Taylor where he attended school. He attended Eastern AZ College before moving to Oakland, California where he worked in the ship yards before entering the Navy in 1943. They had two children and with Blanche's three children they had a total of nine. Klye lived and worked all over Arizona.

He assisted funeral homes by taking care of cemetery setups for many years. Klye also loved farming and ranching, which he stayed involved in as long as his health allowed. He was a big fan of Snowflake sports and went to every game he could. Klye was a hometown boy and loved Taylor and his family and friends there. Just this past summer he was honored by being inducted into the Taylor Hall of Fame. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
