CARPENTER–Mrs. Luella Carpenter, age 74, died at her home in Seymour Sunday morning at 4:15 o'clock after a ten days' illness of a complication of diseases.
Funeral services were conducted at the UniontownBaptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with Dr. A. A. Cohn of Seymour in charge. Burial in the Uniontown cemtery.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Jefferson County, Indiana, March 10 1866, the daughter of the late Robert and Sophia Schmidlap Jordan. She was married in Seymour on February on 22, 1888, to Ulysses S. R. Carpenter, who died July 23, 1932.
She is survived by for children: Charles R. and Harold E. Carpenter and Mrs. Haskel Alexander, all of Seymour, and Mrs. Jesse Ault, of Tampico. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Clara Steadman and Mrs. Stella Schmidlap, both of Indianapolis; twenty-four grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
