Viola Anna (Unknown) CZUDEK was the adopted daughter of John and Stella CZUDEK. The 1930 US census record of this family verifies this information. I have linked her to her adoptive parents becasue her biological parents are not known at this time.

Viola entered the US military service in 1944 and attained the rank of Corporal in the US Marine Corps.

NOTE: 15 Mar 1997: Betty Gene (Czudek) LEWIS, step sister to Viola, has the original US Marine Corps Enlistment Notification dated 19 April, 1944. Viola worked in an airplane factory during her military service.

Betty also has a newspaper article regarding an ex-Marine woman's work project that Viola participated in at the El Cajon Memorial Building on 21 Feb 1949. (I believe this is/was located somewhere in Texas at that time.)

I discovered Viola's burial location using the US Dept of Veterans Affairs Grave Locator service.

A marriage notice was posted Monday, June 22, 1936 in the Oakland, CA newspaper showing Viola Anne Czudek, age 18 of Seattle, WA to be married to Pickard Gordon Elisha, age 23 of Los Angeles, CA. It was to be a public wedding on the circus grounds in that city.
