Mr. Richards was a security guard at Massanutten Military Academy and was a member of the Mount Zion Church of the Brethren.
On May 23, 1969, he married the former Dorothy Gean King, who died on Aug. 6, 2006.
He is survived by four daughters, Rhonda Jean Leimbach of Red Hill, Pa., Cheryl Lynn Dunlow of Staunton and Tammy Jo Richards and Tanya Sue Griffith, both of Luray; four brothers, Buddy Richards of New Market and Bruce, Barry and Charles Richards, All of Luray; three sisters, Velma Lonas of New Market, Barbara Matthews of Mississippi and Kay Rhoten of Elkland, Mo.; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Timothy 'Buster' Richards Sr. and Thomas E. Richards; and a sister Maxine Phillips.
Burial in the Mount Zion Churchof the Brethren Church Cemetery.
