He was born Sept. 20, 1917, in Washington, a son of Bernard and Mary Roth Fuchs. He married Emma L. Reinholdt on May 28, 1937, in St. Louis, Mo. She preceded him in death July 17, 2000, in East Peoria. He later married Velma Pope on March 22, 2002, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Ken) Kettell of Springfield, Carol (Chris) Powell of Springfield, and Vickie (Mark) Werner of Gates, Ore.; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two sisters.
Arnold was the owner and operator of Arnold's Dairy Store in East Peoria. He was employed by Caterpillar Inc. for 21 years, retiring in 1982 as an inspector.
He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.
He was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club and St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria.
A graveside service will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
