Joseph Smith Morrison III-Littrell died April 8, 2009 in Seattle, Washington at 66 years. "Little Joe" or "Sonny", as he was known to friends and family, was born July 10, 1942 in North Bend, Oregon to Joseph Smith Morrison Jr. and Doretta Butcher-Morrison.
Joe grew up in Coos Bay, Oregon and attended Marshfield High School Graduating 1960. In 1960 he also enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1965. Joe was one of only 3 grandchildren who ever saw our Grand Father Joseph Smith Morrison Sr.

In Aug 15, 1963 Joe married Carolyn Covington in California and had a son Christopher Lee Littrell who died in 2008. In 1966 Joe married Carole Hood, and together they had 2 daughters. In about 1983 he married again and had a daughter.

Joe loved sailing and was the very proud owner of a sailboat he called the Nona Dee. Joe was very intelligent and knowledgeable on most any subject but his passion was sailing.

We are all so glad that we had an opportunity to get to know him better when he moved here. Joe joined us at Christmas, many family gatherings, dinners and visits and we visited and were always welcomed to his sailboat. We all loved to regale in his stories and tales of his life. Joe loved visiting with his last living blood Uncle, Fred and they often talked of family times and Sonny was very interested in his Morrison Roots. Sonny's dream was sailing to Hawaii and Mexico. Sonny was always fun to be around he loved to go Salmon fishing with us and was interesting, jovial, and had a real passion for living his life the way he wanted. We loved him and miss him dearly.

Sail on Little Joe, there are clear skies ahead!
