Margaret Jane Polk Teel picture is on page 329 of the book titled,"Polk Family and Kinsman", this is an error. The photo is actually a picture of Mrs George W. Teel.
1860 Census shows Jane and husband Wyatt with child, Ben staying with her mother in-law Rebecca Teel. Also on the census with them staying with Rebecca was Jackson Fitzgerald, age 65.
In Jane's father-in-law will (George W. Teel)I thought I would drop a copy of the sweet note that he left in his will for Jane. Apparently he loved her like one of his own children. "I have heretofore given and conveyed to the wife of my son Wyatt Teel what I estimated at a full equal share of a childs part of my estate as the part of my estate which was intended to be given by me to the said Wyatt and I hereby ratify and confirm the said gift to my said daughter in law Jane the wife of my said son Wyatt."
