He was a cooper in the south of the finger lakes, Catlin, Chemung, New York. They moved to Holland, Ottawa, Michigan. She had a son Leon James Burns in 1873. She had another boy that did not survive and another baby that did not survive. Before 1880 they moved to Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan. She died there.
