Leland was a twin. His twin sister was named Lela Edna Miller. Leland was my grandfather and I was told that at birth Lela weighed approx 8 pounds and Leland weighed 2 pounds. He was put in a small box and placed near the wood stove to keep him warm. He was expected to die shortly. But he survived to age 72. Lela died of cancer in September 1929.
Leland changed his name to Harold Edward Mathews in the mid to late 1940's. He is entombed as Harold Mathews.
